- An oil painting of a horse in a mountain landscape. There is a soft yellow sky with a mauve/blue mountain range in the background. In front of the mountains, on the viewer’s left, are two tepees and two horses with riders. There is a figure in front of the opening of the first teepee, another figure to the right, sitting beside a fire, and a dog to the left of the figure by the fire. Behind the tepees are two very tall coniferous trees. In the foreground is a brown and white horse, viewer’s right, grazing. The primary colours used are green, white, yellow, brown, blue, grey and purple.

The encampment forms a circle in front of the viewer with the teepees at their smallest in the distance in the middle of the painting. The teepees are a variety of colours. In the middle of the painting behind the encampment are green rolling hills and beyond the hills are grey mountains. People are milling about within the encampment. The sky is blue but across the entire top of the painting there are grey clouds.
