- Major Wharton Richard Tweedy, 1889-1965, was a soldier, mountaineer, outfitter and packtrain operator, and served as secretary-treasurer and Camp Manager for the Alpine Club of Canada between 1929 and 1942. Tweedy was responsible for setting up the camp facility for the 1943 Military Instruction Camp at Little Yoho Valley
