- A hand-carved, black soapstone axe head that has a shaft and an axe head carved with a simulated thong that makes the two appear bound together. The piece has two holes: one to put a handle into the shaft; one to put a a handle or shaft in to make a chisel or perhaps to add a decorative touch.
