- The Indian cultures that once flourished in the Pacific Northwest left a magnificent legacy. Now, a distinguished photographer has sought out British Columbia's native artists in their own places, met them informally and recorded their rediscovery of the old skills. In over 200 perceptive photographs, Ulli Steltzer has captured ninety-three dedicated men and women as they carve silver, wood and argillite; prepare wood for weaving and knitting; dig roots and gather grasses for their baskets. - Off white hand woven jacket with blue & green trim and two pockets. Jacket in diagonal twill weave, constructed from two straight 23 cm. wide panels for front and back with no shoulder seams. Sleeves are tapered at bottom, through were made from a 23 cm. wide panel and sewn with a straight seam onto sides. Trim, probably woven on a belt loom, is 5 cm. wide, sewn onto sleeve bottom, pocket edges and around front opening and collar. Three 5 cm. panels have been sewn together for center back.
