Description
Three card weaving samples a,b,c: card weaving has four holes in each corner; in each one you pull one thread so each card has a thread, keep doing it until you get the width you want and then tie the warp to something like a chair; the other parts of the warp will be tied to you. Take the cards and turn them forward or backward. You have a stick shuttle and go through the shed, beat it, and then you might turn the thread once more if you want, going in the same direction. It’s the turning of the set and after each turn going through the shed again that makes the design.(a) a card weaving sample (14.5cmx1.50cm wide) that could be a fringed bookmark. It is made out of cotton and the design is a line of green pine trees with brown trunks against a white background.(b) a card weaving sample (3.40cmx2.30cm wide) of three brown deer heads with red mouths with an arced line of green underneath, black eyes and antlers, and outlined in green on the top and bottom, all on a white background.(c) A card weaving sample (11.50cmx6.0cm wide) of six cowboys with black hats, red vests, light blue shirts, dark blue jeans and black boots against a white background.
