The cutout window is rimmed by a gold-coloured border. The paper is folded in three parts. The first piece is folded over and glued; it encases the piece of woven fabric that appears as the vertical shape on the front. The back is glued too, but opens slightly on the bottom to read the printing, viewer’s left, “THE DESIGN ON THIS CARD IS A 19TH CENTURY COVERLET PATTERN CALLED STAR OF BETHLEHEM” On the back printed in pencil “EILEEN HETT” and underneath ”E14-#1 - 83”. When the card is opened, on viewer’s right, there is a printed greeting in blue calligraphy printing “We wish you Peace and Joy this Christmas Eileen & Bob Hett”. On the left hand side of the open card “Dear Mary, Since the fabric for these cards was woven on my “Mary Andrews” loom- and I thought of you all the time I was weaving, I thought I would send off a finished product to wish you a very Merry Christmas.
