- A buff-coloured sheet of paper folded in half to make a card. There is a cutout of an apple, with two leaves on top, on the front and a piece of weaving in wool, blue weft with a yellow warp behind the cutout. Inside written in pen, viewer’s right, “Dear Mary, What a gem the overshot book is - and what a lovely surprise to receive it. I am enclosing a check for $35.00 - a great bargain. The samples are lovely and I think it is a wonderful idea to have the reader weave some too. Our group is exchanging our friendship coverlet squares on the 6th of June. I am looking forward to seeing what they all look like. Next comes the big decision of how to put them all together. I hope you have a lovely summer. With love and gratitude Eileen”.
