(a) navy blue, machine knitted of very fine yarn much in the shape of a skullcap or beanie, and is gathered together at the top with a short 2 cm tail at the centre like a beret. Different stitch patterns form very subtle bands around hat, seamed up the back. (b) blue, hand knitted with wide 7 cm cuff. Body of cap knitted in shape of beret, which, when the cuff is folded up, appears as if gathered around the edges with a slightly rounded top.

The label on the waistband printed in red ink reads “CARSS 100% wool 601”.
