- coal oil lamp converted to electricity:a) yellow metal base made of five parts, from bottom to top: openwork base with rococo motifs; fluted column; flattened sphere decorated with embossed acanthuses contrasting with a pounded background; burner; globe tray with light socket and bulb; a switch has been inserted in the base; severed electric cord coiled under the base; sphere has a round threaded hole (lid missing) and a wheel knob; printed words on top of the bulb: “SHADOW BAN / GE [logo] /40 / WATT / 115 - 125 VOLT”b) painted frosted glass globe; gradation from green to white from top to bottom; two scenes depicted; largest scene: in the foreground are painted branches of raspberry bush with a few fruits and flowers; these frame a background scene: a couple in a meadow dressed in Victorian era fashion; the man dressed in a brown costume with a hat is sitting down with only his bust showing and the woman in a blue dress is standing to his left; diametrically opposite on the globe, a landscape is painted: a few raspberry branches frame a meadow with a cottage in the distancec) tall clear lamp chimney with trademark print near the top edge in light brown print, partly erased: “Aladdin / TRADE MARK REG”
