- Description
- A well-made, authentic style kilt of dark green and blue plaid with independent crossing lines of red and white; pleated all around except for overlapping flap at the front which is edged with a fringe made from the same tartan plaid; pleats are held in place on the inside with a length of twill tape basted to each; pleats are sewn down at the hip and lined beneath with a shiny black fabric; front flap of skirt overlaps left over right and is fastened together along the waist and two-thirds of the length down the side with a series of black snaps; two short leather straps just below the waist, one on either side, secure into metal buckles attached to the skirt, one passing from underneath through a slit in the skirt; waist is lined with stiff black grosgrain ribbon and has a long twill loop sewn at front and black; no waistband and very deep hem (13.5 cm).
