- Ornaments placed on sword handle ends, or possibly tip of scabbard, as decoration (a) resembles half walnut shape meant to be domed rock on which three brass ants are sitting. There are two oval openings on either side of piece, through which a cord wrapped around sword handle passes to attach ornaments. These openings are brass rimmed, the brass on one of the two openings is missing (b) is a smooth, elongated dome shape as well with single brass dragonfly on top., only other marking is red E.S. Morse label inside ornament, that reads 1072
