- Description
- Large round shallow hand drum of thick rawhide stretched over wooden hoop. Rawhide nailed to bottom of hoop along perimeter with nails approximately 1.5 cm apart. Hide is trimmed at edge of hoop with four long strips of the hide evenly spaced around edge extending toward centre of back of drum and pulled tightly across centre with thick twisted cord. Skin has been sewn together with sinew along one side of hoop frame extending 6 cm into face of drum. Drum skin has been stained red with large grey owl with yellow wings and red features sitting at centre.
