- Description
- A deep, rectangular wooden box, covered with canvas and pieces of dark brown leather, which are attached to the box with large staples. There are two pieces of wood, one on either side, cut diagonally, and placed diagonally, hollowed out for finger placement so the box can be picked up. These are secured with metal bolts. There are two other pieces of wood, one on the top front and one on the back, rivetted on to secure the canvas. The canvas cover is extended to make a cover flap and two side flaps. The side flap, viewer’s right, has a buckle, and the side flap, viewer’s left, has the strap with the holes. There are two larger heavy-duty canvas straps that go around the box (vertically). Each strap has a strip of brown, yellow, and rust embroidery down the middle and a piece of leather sewn on at either end. These have the buckles attached for fastening it. In the centre of the front of the box, between the straps, are stencil-sprayed, bright orange letters (in a circle) “WARDEN’S SERVICE BNP”. In the middle of the circle is the number “21” and on each side of the box “21” with “VIP” under it.
