- Description
- An off-white paper card with a flying bird-shaped cutout window that displays a piece of woven wool of blue and silver metallic thread weaving. The paper is folded in three parts. The first piece is folded over and glued; it encases the piece of woven fabric that appears as the flying bird shape on the front. When the card is opened, on viewer’s right, there is a printed greeting in blue calligraphy printing “We wish you Peace and Joy this Christmas Eileen & Bob Hett”. On the left hand side of the open card “Dear Mary, Since the fabric for these cards was woven on my “Mary Andrews” loom- and I thought of you all the time I was weaving, I thought I would send off a finished product to wish you a very Merry Christmas. It was lovely seeing you in the fall and the guild is looking forward to your coming in the spring. A very Happy New Year, Eileen” On the back printed in pencil “EILEEN HETT” and underneath ”E14-#3-85” signed lrhc: “EH’86”
