- Description
- A white paper card with a vertical cutout window that displays a piece of dark pink and white cotton weaving on a Christmas theme: diamonds and snowflakes. The paper is folded in three parts. The first piece is folded over and glued; it encases the piece of woven fabric that appears as the vertical shape on the front. Greeting in red calligraphy ink “Merry Christmas” and, signed in blue pen, “Eileen & Bob Hett”. Written on the left hand side of open card “Dear Mary, I hope your year has been a pleasant one. A study group Marg & I belong to is in the process of doing a friendship quilt. We’ve generally been developing our own over-shot (sic) designs by adapting traditional ones. It has been a wonderful exercise - and we’ve certainly learned a lot about overshot borders. Are you still working on your book-marks (sic) for Prince George? As I may have told you our guild is handling the Teachers Exhibition Best wishes for the New Year Eileen” Underneath printed in pencil ”E14- #5 - 87”.
