- Description
- A white paper card with a circular cutout window that represents a Christmas ball hanging ornament for a tree. The weaving is in black , 8 harness technique with a white Christmas wool tree and gold metallic thread trunk and base. The tree branch with needles and suspension attachment is drawn in black ink. The paper is folded in three parts. The first piece is folded over and glued; it encases the piece of woven fabric that appears as the circle shape on the front. Printed in black calligraphy inside, viewer’s right “Merry Christmas Eileen & Bob Hett” and viewer’s left, “Dear Mary, The draft for this card came from a newsletter of the guild of California Weavers - from sometime in the 50’s. I found a lot of interesting things there. We’re all busy working on the conference as you would expect. Have a very Happy New Year.” Printed on the back on a sticky note in pencil “ E14 - #9 - 91 Eileen and Bob Hett A LOT OF HER WORK IS 8 HARNESS”
