Akhurst lived in Banff, Alberta for several years, ca.1909, and was involved in carpentry. He married Matilda Alberta Carden, niece of Sias and Tillie Standish of Banff. -- Plans are for a proposed residence at Calgary. They bear resemblance to Armstrong (later Baracos) home at 303 Marten Street, which may have been modelled on these plans. -- Acquired through Catharine Whyte in 1970. Sam Armstrong was the uncle of Peter Whyte. -- See also accn. 5830.
