- Hilary McDowall, 1920-1983, was a journalist at Lake Louise, Alberta and Kaslo, British Columbia, Canada. McDowall came to Canada in 1951 to help operate the Lake Louise Ski Area with her husband Jack. She did accounting for the ski resort, submitted local articles to the "Calgary Herald" and published the "Kicking Horse News." The McDowalls moved to Kaslo, British Columbia in 1973.
