- The Colonel Moore Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion was established at Banff, Alberta, Canada in 1966, replacing the Banff War Veterans Incorporated, 1926-1966, which in turn replaced the Great War Veteran's Association, 1918-1926. The Branch was named for renowned Banff citizen, Colonel Philip A. Moore. Details of Legion history can be found in "Half a Century of Service: A History of the Col.
