- History / Biographical
- Sydney Baker, 1880-1948, was an outfitter and photographer at Banff, Alberta and Glacier, British Columbia, Canada. Baker married Elizabeth "Bessie" Simpson Walker in Banff, ca.1902. Syd Baker operated the Canadian Pacific Railway concession at Glacier House from 1905 until 1915, while Bessie had a curio tent there. Children, Muriel (1907-1976), Jack (1911-ca.1992) and Hiram (b.1914) accompanied the Bakers on a 1926 trip through Syd Baker's 1902 trapping / guiding territory.
