Image is framed in a brass-coloured octagonal frame. A red adhesive sticker is found in the bottom left corner on the surface of the cover glass that reads “Edward S. Morse”. Cover glass is secured in place by a brass-coloured frame that is decorated with foliate motifs.

Tintype in thermoplastic case (also called a union case). Case in good condition with front and back covers featuring floral and architectural motifs in relief. Inside the front cover is violet velvet with a debossed design. The tintype is framed under an oval, bras coloured, metal frame.
