Custom red brown camera case containing a camera, recorder, and various equipment and accessories.a) Red brown suitcase that has been customized to carry cameras and their equipment. The outside has reinforced leather corners and silver hardware. The outside has the initials “J. R. G.” on the top and bottom sides, as well as under the handle. Inside, the case has a brown plaid lining. The bottom of the case has been fitted with a custom made wood, cream coloured apparatus that is designed to hold (c). It comes apart into two pieces - the base, which is not removable, and the lid, which slides out to the right once it has been unhooked from the latch built into the base n the left hand side. The lid of the suitcase reads “J. R. GRICE / 9920 - 75 ST / EDMONTON / ALBERTA”. The foam on the apparatus has worn off, leaving black dust like particles in the suitcase. There are a set of two keys hanging from a brown strap connecting the lid to the base in the center of the suitcase.b) Silver and black camera in a brown leather case. The camera is secured in the case with a wide, flat screw at the base. The camera also comes with its original document outlining the features and instructions of the camera. The camera itself is a Olympus Chrome Six. According to the document, the camera was used to produce “ (12) 6x6cm photos or (16) 4.5x6cm photos on a roll of 120 film”. The camera is black leather with a silver body. There are two silver knobs on the base. The top has four knobs, a viewfinder, and a mount for flash. The smallest knob next to the viewfinder is used to release the lens, which opens from a square panel in the front. The lens is a coated Olympus Zuiko lens. The brown case is Olympus brand and is custom fitted to the camera model. It opens from the top and has two snaps that secure it to the base of the case. A small flap can be opened to allow the camera to be used while remaining in the case. The strap that connects the top of the case to the bottom reads “J. R. GRICE / 9920 - 75 ST / EDMONTON / ALBERTA”. There is a short, thin strap that attaches to either side of the case by metal hardware - one side is broken, the leather has split. The case shows some wear - the connecting middle strap has a large horizontal tear at the seam, while the lens flap has a smaller horizontal tear on the right hand side. c) Green, silver and black recorder that has a strap, brown cloth case and spare reel. The brand on the case, recorder and strap is labeled as Sankyo. The recorder is a muted green colour, with black and silver components. It has three lenses on the front with metal lens caps, The viewfinder is clear. The strap is made of silver components and brown braided cord. The case is brown cloth with a gold zipper, with Sankyo Japan embossed on the side. The reel is made of grey plastic and branded as Kodak, but is believed to work with the recorder. d) Black and white stop watch on a red cord. Was likely used to time exposure times. e) Viewfinder in its original box. Brand is “Watameter”.f) Light meter on a silver snake-chain in its original box. Still operable.g) Blower brush in its original box. h) Handmade camera mount made from wood with attached trigger. There is also a spare trigger wire. i) Film reel it its original box. Reel is empty.j) Bag of miscellaneous bulbs, two of which are for a Sylvanus projector. One is brand new in box. k) Red cloth bag. Front reads “BeautifFeel / Design that feels good” while the bottom says “every woman deserves a pair”l) Miscellaneous papers detailing movie film features and instructions. Have been folded, so they are creased.

A small bag from Nepal, woven on the back, and woven and embroidered on the front, with a multi-coloured corded strap (135.0cm) sewn onto the side of the bag, extending from the fringed bottom 4.0cm suspended from a blue plastic bead, to an over-the-shoulder cord. The front part is backed by a black muslin cotton piece that forms a separate compartment. There is a plastic and metal black zipper (15.0cm) on the top portion of the bag (one compartment) and the same kind and size of zipper lower down (5.0cm) opening onto a separate compartment. The bottom front of the bag 13.5x15.0cm wide) is gold satin with a circular embroidered design; the top part (5.0x15.0cm wide) is a multi-coloured woven design the same as the entire back of the bag. The paper price tag is attached by a piece of clear plastic; it reads “TEN THOUSAND VILLAGES” in red lettering and “ MADE IN/FABRIQUE DU NEPAL/NEPAL 5900165” in black lettering and the barcode underneath.

Three double-sided, plastic-covered scenic placemats with: (a) having one coloured photographic reproduction of Bow Lake on one side and a black-and-white photographic reproduction of Crowfoot Glacier on the other; (b,c) Alberta’s wildflowers on one side of both; (b) a colour photograph reproduction of Lake Louise; (c) a colour photographic reproduction of Moraine Lake. (a) The lower half of the photograph is the lake and shoreline and the top half is mountains and sky. The foreground of the lake’s shore is in the shade and mostly dark, except for a bit of green vegetation in the viewer’s extreme left-hand corner and some green bushes bunched together in the lower middle. Some sunlight hits part of the brown-coloured vegetation and logs. There are parts of dark branches of a spruce tree from top to bottom on the viewer’s left; mid-centre the shore juts out and further down, a log with some branches. On the viewer’s right there are heavy green branches, the bottom part in the shade, that form part of a spruce tree from top to bottom. The lake is sunlit from the left with reflections of the mountains in the shimmering water. The shore beyond is lined with trees and the grey mountains, with some snow on the peaks, above and further to the viewer’s right, a glimpse of a glacier. On the viewer’s far right some green vegetation and than a rust-coloured moraine, leading up to a mountain barely discernable through the spruce tree branches. The sky is blue with white, puffy clouds. On the white border, printed in black script, in viewer’s left-hand bottom corner “Bow Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada”; on the white border, printed in black italics, in viewer’s right-hand bottom corner “Photo Don Harmon” and underneath it “Distributed b Byron Harmon Photos, P.O. Box 490, Banff, Alberta”. On the opposite side of the placemat is a copy of a black-and-white photograph by Byron Harmon of Crowfoot Glacier in 1917. The foreground is branches, vegetation and one large spruce tree, on the viewer’s far right, that rises almost to the top of the photograph. Mid-centre, four packhorses, carrying their diamond-hitch loads, are grazing near two spruce trees. A bank of trees behind the horses rises steadily to the viewer’s right and the giant Crowfoot Glacier, with three complete ‘toes’, to the viewer’s right and one incomplete ‘toe’ on the left, makes up the top-half, except for a bit of sky, mid-to-far left. On the white border, in viewer’s left-hand bottom corner, printed in black lettering, is “Crowfoot Glacier 1917” and on the right-hand bottom corner “Photo B. A grosgrain ribbon in red and white (colours of the Austrian flag) (a) is folded into the shape of a triangle. A metal pin set with a wide pin bar is inserted into the fold and (b) a grosgrain ribbon in red and white (colours of the Austrian flag) is folded into the shape of a small bow and sewn onto a metal back of a tie-tack style (spike and clutch closure attachment) lapel pin. (a) A grosgrain ribbon in red and white (colours of the Austrian flag) is folded into the shape of a triangle. A metal pin set with a wide pin bar is inserted into the fold. The hinged pin comes through the fabric at the back displaying a barrel-type catch for closing. A silver-coloured metal hook is sewn onto the top part; this hooks through a silver-coloured rivet in the bottom of the folded triangular-shaped ribbon and attaches to a metal ring, which in turn is attached to a ring soldered to the top part of the back of a heraldic gold-coloured stylized eagle, wings outstretched, embossed with ten divisional/regimental shields, one under the head and nine on the tips of the its feathers. There is a second ring soldered onto the bottom back of the eagle, suspended from which is a gold-coloured Maltese cross with webbed design surface and a flat-surfaced Christian cross in the centre.(b) A grosgrain ribbon in red and white (colours of the Austrian flag) is folded into the shape of a small bow and sewn onto a metal back of a tie-tack style (spike and clutch closure attachment) lapel pin. The size is (2.5 wide x 1 width x 1cm deep).The medal and lapel pin are stored in a red-paper covered metal hinged box (black bottom) lined with white satin on the inside cover and white faux velvet on the container part with depressions made for the medal and the lapel pin. Gold script with the jeweller’s particulars “Friedrich Orth Wien seit 1840” is embossed on the inside cover. A heraldic eagle is embossed in gold on the top of the box lid.

There is a zippered front closure and a pinked and beaded portion on each side of the zipper. The beadwork is alternating blue, yellow and red flowers with blue and yellow leaves and stems and then below flowers with colours of red, blue, black, yellow and leaves in green. There are four flowers on each side. On the flat front pockets the borders are pinked and the beadwork is a flower with red petals rimmed with black and a yellow centre. The leaves and stem are green.
