File consists of ca. 405 photographs used in books "Nicholas Morant's Canada" and "Nicholas Morant's Canadian Pacific" by John Garden, and 23 textual items. Photographs include ca.123 prints (13 oversize), ca.125 transparencies, and ca.156 negatives. Content pertains to Rocky Mountain scenics, various hotel interior and exterior views, scenes from Peru, and other miscellaneous content relating to the Canadian Pacific Railway company.
Textual materials include personal correspondence collected by Willie Morant, handwritten notes by Nicholas Morant, and one newspaper clipping (annotated).

Comedy thriller "Silver Streak" (1976) was directed by Arthur Hiller and written by Colin Higgins. Parts of the filming took place in locations throughout Alberta, including Okotoks, Calgary, and Drumheller. The film largely takes place aboard a moving train, and the use of Canadian Pacific Railway for this purpose is likely how Nicholas Morant (Canadian Pacific's Special Photographer from 1930 - 1981) was able to take the photographs in this file.

Three images within the file are of Sheila Morgan, a model who Nicholas Morant worked with at the Algonquin Resort Hotel in New Brunswick, likely some time in the 1940's. The Algonquin Resort was bought by the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1903 and sold to private owners in 1970.

File consists of 40 b&w prints, mainly depicting professional portraits of individuals. Individuals in images include Charlie Beil, Carl Rungius, and several other unnamed artists and trades workers. File also contains images of staged scenes used in advertising by Canadian Pacific.
Charlie Beil and Carl Rungius were both famous artists in the Banff area from the first half of the 20th century. Beil (1894-1976) moved to Banff in 1930 and was known for his paintings and bronze sculptures. He married Olive Luxton, the niece of Norman Luxton, in 1940. Rungius (1869-1959) was originally born in Germany and was famous for his landscape and wildlife paintings.
