A heavily machined brass cylinder with a flat base (the bottom of an artillery shell). The bottom inside of the cylinder has been built up at the centre. The cylinder base has a disk at the centre which would appear to unscrew. Inscribed on the side of the shell is “8th Langs How Battery R.F.A. Major S.P. MORTER T.D. Cindy (or Ctndg?)”. There are also marks on the bottom of the cylinder “CF”, “1915”, “CPR”, and “13 0” along with various other numbers and letters. The disk on the bottom of the cylinder has “KN” inside of a trademark, along with “0/15” and “No 1”. II
