File consists of a letter from Walter Idington to Peter Idington, January 1, 1836. Photographs measure 2.5" x 2" with ornate metal frames. One image is a portrait of a man in uniform, the second image is of a man dressed in kilt, sporran and playing the bagpipes with a small child at his side. Photographer's stamp on reverse of one image reads: "McMillan Photographer, Dundas, Ont." Framed photographs were stored in a small linen bag.
