Album contains 58 colour photographs pertaining to trail rides around Pulsatilla Pass and other unidentified regions in the Canadian Rockies between 1979 and 1995. Jimmy Simpson Sr. was a backpacker and outfitter in the Banff / Rocky Mountains region. He built the Num-Ti-Jah Lodge near Bow Lake which him and his wife Williamina ran from 1920 - 1945, and led many hunting and climbing expeditions in the area. Jimmy and Williamina had three children: Jimmy Simpson Jr. (who took over the Lodge in 1945), and daughters Margaret and Mary Simpson who became famous as professional ice skaters, the 'Simpson Sisters' in the late 1930's.

For Banff, file documents winter and fall scenery (mountains like Rundle and Cascade, the Bow River, Banff Avenue), wildlife (elk and a bear), war memorial, Warren house, Baine house, Louis Trono concert in the park in 1995, and the Old Banff Cemetery. For Canmore, file documents the Highland Games in 1994, winter activities (ice sculptures, dog sled races at the Nordic Centre), St. Michael's Place, and a photograph of the valley. File also documents the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies and the cabins (Bill Peyto, Jack Sinclair, and Mather Family) located on the museum's property.

File pertains to Dorothy's research on Banff and surrounding area, Parks Canada, Department of the Interior, and the history of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in general. Records were filed in an envelope that was titled "Book Notes."
Notable people include James Wardle, J.B. Harkin, Pat Brewster, Arthur Unwin, Dr. Brett, Norman Sanson, and Bill Peyto, among others. Notable places and topics include the organization of the Department of the Interior, the Banff-Windemere Highway, Rocky Mountain Park and Park Wardens, Kootenay National Park fires, coal and precious metal mines (e.g. Bankhead, Silver City), trail riding and hiking, research about James Wardle and his accomplishments, Ya-Ha-Tinda, and various parks (e.g. Glacier, Revelstoke, Elk Island, Kootenay, and Yoho).
