He has an unhappy expression on face and there is a flat, circular platform on top of his head, may be a damaged chip. The mollusk hinge is very crude and appears to have been broken away, there are two circles on either side of hinge where the wood is missing. Turtle is dark hardwood, shell is black lacquered wood.
