A young fugitive joins up with a girl and escapes from her father and authorities by trekking into the Canadian Rockies backcountry. Though suffering from an intellectual disability, the girl soon proves to be far more capable in the wilderness than her companion. - "Where the North Wind Blows" [working title: "The Snow Tigers"], 1975, directed by Stewart Raffill and starring Henry Brandon, Herbert Nelson, Dan Haggerty, and Fernando Celis . Set in Alaska, a burly trapper escapes into the wilderness after accidentally shooting his friend’s son. While pursuing a solitary life, he encounters a mother Siberian snow tiger and her cubs. When the tigress is killed by hunters, the trapper adopts the orphan tigers and defends them from hunters. Location filming mostly around the Kananaskis Country and Canmore areas.
