Description
Bead wrapped wooden sticks with bone and/or horn points (a) wooden circle 7.0 dia. on end, wrapped with green and mauve beads. 2 groups of feathers hang from circle. 3 golden eagle tail and 3 hawk wingfeathers, shaft wrapped with cotton, beads attached. Bands of green, maroon and mauve. Double barbed point 29.3 long is bone (b) 5.5 at base tapers to 2.3 at top. Completely cloth covered, bottom half rows of beads, blue, maroon, yellow. Double barbed point 25.0 long is bone, top has 2 bovine horns, points 16.0 apart, nailed onto shaft. 2 strips of hide ca 3.0 wide over top and around base join (c) forked willow stick, cloth wrapped, beads in bands of blue, yellow,red. 1/5 of beads missing. Short buckskin fringe at bottom of fork and at join of point. Point is 17.0 long antler carved at end for sharper point, gouge each side, fork painted yellow, blue, red. (d) forked willow stick, similar to (c)except more beads missing, fork complete, point missing.

Description
A roach headdress made from porcupine guard hairs sewn around the edge of a support made from braided strips of fabric stitched together in an elongated shape much in the same manner as a braided rug. The long porcupine hairs are of natural colour and fan open when the braided mat is attached to the curvature of the head. A short length of cord has been stitched to the underside of the braided mat, with short lengths of heavy thread sewn at intervals along the edges. Stored with large carved b) club of wood inside to hold the form of the hairs smooth, and wrapped with a length of cord.
