- Log cabin with peaked red shingled roof, whitewashed, with green trim on eavestroughs, window sills and porch roof supports. Small green ship's wheel conceals the bathroom vent, bathroom is late addition, c. 1930 constructed from wooden planks of varying widths. Roof possibly reshingled at time of addition. False roof S.E. side was likely added at time of bathroom construction. Corners of log portion are dovetailed. Cabin faces S.W. two windows on N.W. side (85.0 x 65.0 & 85.0 x 70.). Bathroom window on south side (60 x 32.5 cm). Chinking between logs is oakum faced with concrete. Electrical conduit on back, N.W. side and gas conduit on N.E. side added in 1970s for John Morse when he used cabin as a woodworking shop. Both lines are connected to the Whyte house. Two chimneys, one encased in brick at N.E. end, the other in metal on N.W. side. Cabin/sits on concrete plinth probably dating from 1972. All base logs have been replaced by stonework c.1975.

- Circular metal and enamel pin with the inner circle containing a stylized mountain on the top-third of a segmented globe on a blue enamel background, Above the circle are the letters “UIAGM” and below “IVBV”. The outer ring of the circular pin has these words printed on it “GUIDE DE MONTAGNES GUIDA BERGFUHRER”. The front of the pin is coated with clear plastic, presumably for protection from the elements as it must be worn when guiding. The back of the pin has two horizontal hinged pins on two separate pin sets with a swivel-locking safety catch for each of the pins. In between the pin sets is a rectangular box with the letter “K” on top and then “KOFEL-BZ”.

The words “SVAR Mod. 41 006” is imprinted under the metal rivet. The two-piece metal snap is connected by a rivetted spring. The front piece has the letter “E” inside a diamond shape and the letters “I,M,L” inside individual boxes above the rivet. The back piece has four lines etched on the top and “MADE” on one side and “ITALY” on the other. On the inserted paper name tag is the UIAGM logo; a stylized mountain on the top-third of a segmented globe on a blue background, Above the circle are the letters “UIAGM” and below “IVBV”.The outer ring of the circular logo has these words printed on it “GUIDE DE MONTAGNES GUIDA BERGFUHRER”, in the lhc. The word “Kanada” is centred and below the name “Hans Gmoser”. The lettering and logo are very dark blue on a white paper background and a dark blue box surrounding the information.
