Description
Magazine originated complex paper dolls of European ethnic societies, a variety of them. There are three backgrounds, one of which seems to be English townlife, half timbered building, ivy, chimney pots, etc. One of which seems to be northern France, Brittany? or low countries, and the third of which is mountainous Italy. There seem to be four groups of dolls, all of which are printed front and back. A uniformed British soldier and a woman in sweater, a bride with two little girls and a formally dressed boy; An Italian family, women in full skirts, the mother carrying a burden basket, son and father in loden green costumes; and the Brittany family, mother with basket in hand, elaborate headdress, father with rifle in hand, son's costume not cut out or folded, and daughter whose headdress is not cut out. There is also a cutout cat who may or may not be part of the scenes. 22 pieces plus 3 backgrounds.

Three paper dolls. A young man dressed in a military uniform, a girl about twelve years old, and a little girl about two years old. They have been cut from a magazine and are equipped with accessories. These are, an elaborate wicker baby carriage, two pieces of luggage, two dogs, a wash basin, baby's crib, doll carriage and golf bag with clubs. The young man has five costumes. A riding suit, a tuxedo, a grey three piece suit, overcoat, and casual blue jacket with white pants, shoes and shirt. The baby has two little dresses. The young girl has seven hats, six dresses and a coat with muff. There are also four hats belonging to the young man.

Description
An elaborately-carved, squat rectangular wooden box on four ball feet with a lockable lid. The four walls of the box have an elaborately carved floral, on the back panel a single dog running is centred, and on the ends a bird each is seen perched in the foliage. The top of the box presents a scene from "the life of the Hindu Gods," five figures one of them dog-faced, in formal pose, and on either side of that group are two fish-tailed men. A 10 cm. crack runs from the front left foot on the box base, and a crack 22 cm. long runs around the corner of the top left of the lid.
