Description
Magazine originated complex paper dolls of European ethnic societies, a variety of them. There are three backgrounds, one of which seems to be English townlife, half timbered building, ivy, chimney pots, etc. One of which seems to be northern France, Brittany? or low countries, and the third of which is mountainous Italy. There seem to be four groups of dolls, all of which are printed front and back. A uniformed British soldier and a woman in sweater, a bride with two little girls and a formally dressed boy; An Italian family, women in full skirts, the mother carrying a burden basket, son and father in loden green costumes; and the Brittany family, mother with basket in hand, elaborate headdress, father with rifle in hand, son's costume not cut out or folded, and daughter whose headdress is not cut out. There is also a cutout cat who may or may not be part of the scenes. 22 pieces plus 3 backgrounds.
