A candle holder with a metal spike is on the inside of the open half, with small spout at the end over the container. A tallow candle is placed on the spike, and as it burns it drips through the spout, into the base of the container, where the tallow is collected and reused. The bottom of this candlestick is marked with abstract geometric characters within a rectangular design.
