The foreground is grey rocks, a dead tree with the brown tree trunk and branches reaching right, above that coniferous trees viewer’s right; the middle foreground is made up of grey pebbles and small rocks with coniferous trees behind, the sun is shining on the mid- foreground and the viewer’s right highlighting the ground and trees. To the viewer’s right there is a pile of grey, brown, and beige rocks with two coniferous trees above and some yellow and brown bushes to the right of that; to the very far right the Bow River is visible and also above the bushes it is snaking its way through the valley toward Canmore.
