- (Mary) Alice Saltiel-Marshall (1948-2019) was an artist based in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. Alice operated the company Art by Saltiel and had her work displayed and sold at various locations in the Bow Valley, including the Whyte Museum, the Banff Centre, and Avens Gallery.

- The Banff Public Library, also known as the Banff Library, was initially sponsored by local service groups in various premises, including the Banff Clinic, 1949-1961, a home on the Whyte property, 1961-1967, and in the Peter and Catharine Whyte Foundation building (now Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies) from 1968-1985. In 1985, the Banff Public Library relocated to the lower floor of the new Banff Library/Seniors Centre, and in 1990 the library came under the jurisdiction of the new Town of Banff.

During the 1970s and 1980s the district assumed, in the absence of a municipal government, responsibilities for aspects of local government as well as school administration. After 1990, the district's responsibilities strictly pertained to public education.

- James Henry (Harry) McKid Bannerman - Born in Calgary on September 7, 1890. He resided in Calgary and trained in heating, plumbing and tinsmithing. He belonged to the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. He married Clara Haugan (born in Norway in 1890) in 1918. They had two girls, Ethel in 1919, Marjory 1921 before moving to Banff in 1923. Three more children arrived, Rundle 1924, Daphnie 1930 and Joyce in 1932. He carried on his trade in his shop on Bear Street. He had great machinery for making heating ducts, down spouts, elbows and eaves troughing out of tin. He also worked with copper sheeting for kettles, pots, wash tubs, coal scuttles, bath tubs, and a church spire. He crawled under homes to fix leaks and kept things moving. Harry was a volunteer fireman for twenty odd years. When he retired because of poor health the fire department gave him a beautiful recliner chair. He also served on the town council for many years, the last few as chairman. He retired in 1949. Harry was a member of the Southern Alberta and Oldtimers Associations and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. He was a staunch conservative and his sister Reta Crick was a staunch liberal. His son Rundle predeceased him in 1948 and his wife Clara in 1949. Harry passed away June 15, 1950.
- Joseph McKay Bannerman - Born 1851, came to Calgary in 1883. He served on city council then served four years as representative for Calgary in the Northwest Territories Legislature Assembly. Joseph and his wife Christina (born 1857) have their names moulded on the archway at the Southern Alberta Pioneers Memorial Building. Christina passed away in 1907 and in 1908 Joseph moved to Banff. He found work in town and later remarried. They had two girls, Evelyn and Thelma Mary and lived on the corner of Otter and Buffalo Street across from the cemetary. Joseph died in 1932 and Emma went back to England.

- Ben Gadd (1946-) is a retired naturalist, guide, geologist, instructor, freelance writer and award-winning author based in the Canadian Rockies. Ben was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1946. He met his wife, Cia (Langdon) Gadd at Colorado College in 1965, and the couple married four weeks later. Ben and Cia had two sons, Will and Toby. Ben and his family relocated to Jasper in the late 1960s. Ben later attended the University of Lethbridge and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Earth Science in 1972. Between 1976 and 1980, Ben taught classes at Mount Royal College and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology; he later taught additional classes at Grant MacEwan College and Lakeland College. From 1981, Ben also worked as a seasonal naturalist/guide for Parks Canada. Ben left Parks Canada in 1985 to start an independent naturalist guiding business with Cia based in Jasper and other parts of the Canadian Rockies, which the couple continued to operate for over two decades. Ben published his best-known work, "Handbook of the Canadian Rockies", through his publishing company Corax Press in 1986. The second edition of "Handbook of the Canadian Rockies" received multiple awards after its release in 1995. Ben's fiction book, "Raven's End" won the title of Best Canadian Rockies Book at the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival in 2001 and became a Canadian bestseller. Overall, Ben has authored or co-authored 11 books and received nearly one dozen awards for his achievements as a writer, researcher and guide. Ben continued to lead guided hikes and school programs until his retirement in 2016.

- W. J. L. "Bill" Gibbons, 1914-1994 , was a professional photographer at Banff, Alberta, Canada from 1945 until 1959. Gibbons came to Canada in 1941 and settled in Banff after the war with his wife, Ella Mae (Becker), a Banff native. He established British Photographic Laboratories, with partners Lou Crosby and Jack Anderson, in the basement of the Mount Royal Hotel, moving later to street-level. Bill and Ella Mae Gibbons travelled throughout the mountain parks photographing views for sale in the Banff shop. These were offered as hand-coloured prints, with much of the colouring done or supervised by Ella Mae.
- Later the business expanded to include colour postcards and slide sets. Gibbons employed other photographers, such as Bruno Engler, for specialty work, such as ski photography, and the Banff studio also did portraiture. Gibbons himself did most of the 4 x 5 format landscape work and made extensive use of models, many of who were young women employed by his Banff store. In 1959, Gibbons sold his business to a group of Banff businessmen and moved to Vancouver. In subsequent years, he continued to be active as a photographer and in publishing, working in different areas of the world. He made several photographic trips through the mountain parks, ca.1966-1972.

Banff School of Fine Arts, ca.1949, 277 negatives (privately produced views of classes, group portraits, activities, buildings and facilities); C. "S" sub-series, ca.1950, 1220 negatives (scenic views in the vicinity of Banff, Lake Louise, Banff-Jasper Highway, Jasper National Park, Radium and Columbia Valley, British Columbia and Pacific Coast, First Nations views); D. "T" sub-series, ca.1950, 482 negatives (scenic and commercial views, mainly Jasper, Banff-Jasper Highway and Lake Louise areas); E. CR35-2 to CR35-81, ca.1966-ca.1972, ca.2310 photographs; D. Other photographs, ca.1945-ca.1990. Series consists primarily of commercial colour negatives and corresponding proof prints pertaining to Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks, also some transparencies and oversize display prints.

- Charles "Charlie" Clifford Carmichael Reid (1904-1984) was born near Suffield, Alberta, Canada. Charlie went to high school in Medicine Hat, Alberta and arrived in Banff in 1922 to serve his three-year pharmacy apprenticeship with Gourlay's Drug Store. After completing his apprenticeship, Charlie studied to be a pharmacist at the University of Alberta from 1926-1928. While at university, Charlie joined the Pharmacy Club and the Track Team. Charlie had dreams of opening his own pharmacy in Banff, which he did in 1936 on Banff Avenue and named it Banff Pharmacy Limited. He operated the Banff Pharmacy until his retirement in February 1977. He was known as a good employer that paid well, and known for selling French perfumes. A true entrepreneur, Charlie opened a branch store that sold general merchandise in the Banff Springs Hotel, a Curio and Gift shop across from the pharmacy, and a fur store. It is also noted that Charlie found an opportunity to sell coal to the Banff Springs Hotel, which is where he made a significant amount money. He remained in Banff until his death. He was described as a "go getter" and was known for dressing meticulously, particularly with his trademark bowtie. He was a keen and skilled golfer at the Banff Springs Golf Course (he was a member), and won the Prince of Wales trophy in the 1930's. He was an accomplished track and field athlete, captain of the canoe team, participated in water sports, and enjoyed hiking and hunting. He was good friends with George Noble (photographer), Dr. Ernest Kennedy (dentist), and Carl Rungius (artist). Charlie was a prominent Banff citizen: he served as the Registrar for births, deaths, and marriages; he served on the Banff Advisory Council; was a Charter Member of the Kinsman Club of Banff; he was a member of the Banff Curling Club; and he was a volunteer firefighter with fire brigade. When a fire broke out at the Banff Springs Hotel in the late 1920's, Charlie was one of the firefighters who helped put it out. Charlie was a bachelor until his mother died, although during this period he courted Edmee Moore, daughter of Col. Philip and Pearl (Brewster) Moore, whom he married in 1942. Charlie and Edmee Reid were friends of Mary Schaffer Warren and lived in the Warren home after Billy Warren's death. - V487 consists of three series, 9 cm, ca. 1900-ca. 1939. Series I: Albums (depicting sports and community events in and around Banff, including the Banff Winter Carnival and the Banff Indian Days). Series II: Prints, consisting two sub-series: A. Community Life and Banff Area (family and friends, community events including Banff Winter Carnival and Banff Indian Days, and scenery; includes Reid's pharmacy) and B. Sports and Recreation (summer and winter sports, mainly golf). Series III: Negatives (primarily depicting Reid with friends and family and sports activities).

- Grant Buchanan was a good friend of Charles Reid. His son, Doug Buchanan, gifted additional records in 2014 (accn.2014.8273), these were found in his garage after his father passed away.

- Andrew Charles "Charlie" Russell (August 19, 1941 – May 7, 2018) was a naturalist, photographer, pilot, wilderness guide, and rancher. One of the son's of Andy Russell and Kay Russell and grandson of Bert Riggall, Charlie grew up at the Hawk's Nest ranch on the N.E. boundary of Waterton Lake National Park.
- Alongside his brother Dick Russell, Charlie assisted his father Andy in the production and filming of Grizzly Country throughout the Canadian Rockies, British Columbia, and Alaska from 1961-1964. In 1967 he returned to the Tolkat River in Alaska to photograph and observe bears alone. In 1970 he purchased a large percentage of his fathers land on Waterton's north-east border to run a cattle operation. In 1991, he made his first visit to Princess Royal Island, British Columbia, and began photographing for "Spirit Bear", a book of photographs and writings published in 1994. Beginning in 1997, Charlie spent 6 years among the grizzlies of Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia alongside artist and partner Maureen Enns. After returning to Alberta from Russia, Charlie continued to be a conservation advocate until he passed from a surgery-related complication in May 2018.

- The Charlie Russell fonds consists of photographs pertaining to the filming of "Grizzly Country", ranching, friends and family, wildlife, and recreational activities, ca.1961-ca.1968. The majority of the images were made in the Waterton Lakes area. There are some images made in New York City, British Columbia, and Alaska. The fonds is comprised of two series: I. Black and white negatives; II. Transparencies; I. Black and white negatives consists of A. 1964, B. Waterton Park Flood, June 8-9, 1963, C. 35mm Books, D. 4x5 Book, E. Bert Riggall Copy Negatives. II. Transparencies consist of two 4x5 colour transparencies depicting Cal Wellman's Cattle.

- I.C. was received in the form of three separate negative books. The books have been arranged numerically in subseries I.C, with the negative book book and page number of origin written on the negative sleeves. For example, V557/I/C/NA-1a to NA-6e [Book 1, pg. 1,2].
- Select 35mm negatives in I.C. are marked with red stickers and overlaid with rectangles on the negative sleeve. These negatives correspond to the negatives used in "Spirit Bear" and their cropping for publication. Each image is listed and described in the case file on the document titled "These are the negs used in Spirit Bear Chapter One". Some of the dots have a number corresponding to the document, others do not (the stickers were taken from the original negative sleeves and re-applied to the new negative sleeves).

- Cyril and Mary Paris were restaurant owners and skiers at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Cyril Paris, 1904-1981, was son of George Harrison Paris, 1872-1960, who settled in Banff in 1892. George Paris worked as an attendant at Dr. R. G. Brett's Grandview Hotel bathhouse, and, by 1903, Paris had established his own barber shop. He married Ida Winberg and they opened a summer tea house and ice cream parlor on Banff Avenue. In 1922, a restaurant was added to the Paris Tea Room. George Paris was active in the Banff Curling Club and the Banff Skating Club and taught figure-skating. He was an accomplished amateur photographer. George and Ida Paris had four children - Cyril, Georgina (Georgie) and twins, Herb and Ted. Cyril and his brothers were active in the early development of skiing in the Rockies. Cyril Paris was a member of the Banff Ski Club and the Ski Runners of the Canadian Rockies, and was involved with the early days of Skoki Lodge. With his wife, Mary (Howard) Paris, 1910-1989, he shared interests in skiing, winter sports and local affairs.

- Marjorie Helen Folger Dean (b.1902 in Fargo, North Dakota, d.1974) and her family lived at Laggan, Lake Louise ca.1906-1918. Her father, William Dean (1878-1974) was a locomotive engineer with the C.P.R., 1911-1922. Her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Folger Dean, was born in 1883 in Delhi, Ontario and died in 1963. Marjorie Dean married Hargreaves Greenhough on August 6, 1925 in Edmonton, Alberta.
