The whole photograph is covered in butterflies. There are numerous butterflies resting on a glass or reflective surface with wings outspread. Some of the butterflies are blue with dark blue or black, some are all a light tan colour and others are a mixture of different browns and contrasting dark colours. In the center reflecting between the insects is an image that appears to a checkered shirt either from the person taking the photograph or from a passerby.

A colour photograph with hand-coloured paper negative border. The photograph is dominated by a large tree in the centre, its branches reaching out of frame. The tree is in a flat field and in the distant background is a hill covered in trees and on the right there is a smaller hill. At the bottom right is a figure facing the tree (back to the camera) wearing a baby blue jacket with the hood up and rubber boots. A thick pale pink border surrounds the photograph. All along the boarder are hand-drawn outlines of wolves, camels, squirrels, armadillos and mountain sheep. Each of the animals is coloured in with either golden yellow, magenta, pale teal, or pale pink. There is also a thicker, loosely drawn, reddish-pink outline around each animal.
