- Rankin cup trophy is double handled, lidded, and sits on a circular, lathed, black painted wooden base. Tall, deep cup on circular foot, with ornate, amphora like handles. Hallmarks near handle include "M&W" within crest, crown within pentagon, lion passant crest and "P" within crest. Lid slopes to narrow top knob in leaf design. Hallmarks on lid rim which sits inside cup are as follows: "M&W" within crest, lion passant in pentagon and "P" within crest. Wood and cup bases stamped "Mappin & Webb" Limited, Sheffield & London .
