Dimensions: 2.1 x 1.0 x 15.0 cm

Description: A very thin knife with ebony handle like rifle butt and wooden scabbard wrapped with bands of black cord. (a) dirk, short, narrow, pointed steel blade with reverse curve to sharp shoulder on under side of hilt. Small carved ebony handle shaped like a rifle butt, with carved band of scallops and diamond shapes around middle. Two decorative notches carved across butt of handle. Note: handle checked along length. (b) scabbard, small, simple and straight, carved of two pieces of wood with triangular opening at mouth. Top carved to curve downward on one side to accommodate shoulder of blade. Girded with four double bands of finely braided cord, evenly spaced along length, and a fifth triple band at top beneath shoulder. Note: top fibre hands loose and slide up and down.

Manipulation of wire used to remove vessel from wheel has left a shell like pattern on foot. Indent and two vertical grooves on outside of vessel. 3 notes in jar (1) yellow sticker "72/2", (2) red sticker "in yellow 72/2" in E.S. Morse writing and (3) also Morse's writing (?) Seto 1700 old specimen. Small button like ivory lid, lid is missing a foil liner.

Description: Temmoku glaze, iron content, producing creamy light brown to dark brown streaking of glaze, also contains golden yellow colouring. Hand thrown with circular, small wheel mark on base. Ivory lidded, lid has foil liner and ivory in lid has circular decoration as well as flaws which include minor cracks and one large, 2.0 cm. crack. The squat shape is called "TAIKAI". Probably, Japanese calligraphy on label stuck to inside of rim reads "Taikai" "#7".

Description: Hand thrown, trimmed footed, urn shaped, lidded vessel. Dominant blue enamel, ground with cloisonne and multi-coloured enamel design of garden and four butterflies. Green black yellow border decoration at base and scrolled yellow border at rim. Domed lid which has previously been mended with two staples. Lid decoration geometric flower, and lid sits over jar rim. Calligraphy on jar base and calligraphy label inside lid. The lid would have been repaired after all firing was completed and label affixed at same time.

Dimensions: 1.4 x 5.3 x 7.1 cm

Description: An ornate, engraved, gold pocket watch with separate winding stem. (a) watch, completely engraved around edge, stem bracket, and fob ring, with scrolled vines. Back textured with spiral crosshatching and plain shield shaped plaque at centre surrounded by engraved flowers and vines, gold framed front crystal opens. Porcelain dial beneath with delicate Roman numerals, a recessed circular second dial at bottom, and hair like wire hands. Back of case also hinged to open, ornately engraved plate beneath, two places for winding and setting hands. Marks: inside back cover, "18, hallmark, 21547", engraved plate, "F. Cooper, London, detached lever, thirteen jewels" . (b) winding stem, long, stemmed key with square hole in end to fit winding knobs, and oval shaped handle at top. Small ball around stem at middle allows key to be turned without twisting fob ring attached. Watch runs but hands cannot be set.
