Smooth, slightly shaped wood handle with large steel rivets through, has wide steel band at end with pommel on underside and mounting slot along top side. Marks: stamped on blade near hilt, "1898" other side "US". Note: pieces of wood chipped from both sides of handle, rusty.( b) scabbard, steel, simply shaped to fit blade with small ball at point.
