The upper part of the reflection is indicated with small vertical strokes, while horizontal strokes are found in the lower section.

The trees on the left bank are simply indicated by thin vertical brushstrokes of dark green paint. In the background a range of violet mountains can be seen. Description
View of the edge of a glacier. In the foreground (the lower third of the picture) are areas of grey interlocking with areas of light grey-yellow green. In the background is a rounded rise of ice with its surface coloured pale yellow and white, and crevasses of light-blue, grey-green and green-blue (with some outlines of dark blue). The bottom edge of the glacier is a cliff of ice, which extends from the righthand side of the picture and almost reaches the lefthand side. At the top of the sketch, a strip of blue sky is found on the left and an area of brown wash is on the right.

View of a glacier beyond a rise of covered ground. In the foreground is an uneven hilltop covered in vegetation. Multi-coloured grasses (ochre, yellow-green, red-brown, dark brown), a group of dark evergreens (on the right), as well as, a solitary evergreen (on the left) are found on the hilltop. In the background is a wide valley with a large glacier. The glacier (coloured with white, grey, light blue and light brown) fills most of the lefthand side. The righthand side of the background contains a mass of dark grey and brown cliffs (with touches of grey-blue and ochre). Along the upper edge of the picture (above the glacier) are loose brushstrokes of blue, white, brown and blue-grey. These marks suggest distant cliffs among ice and clouds.

Description
An unfinished sketch of a view of mountains beyond a lake. In the foreground, green and brown have been used to sketch in grasses and small trees (series of strokes placed one above the other). The surface of a light blue lake forms the middleground. Behind the lake, a hill of dark brown and black (blue) slopes from the left side of the picture. The structure of a mountain slope has been sketched in with grey (short parallel lines and a small triangle can be seen) on the righthand side. The far distance contains an unfinished mountain. (Tan has been laid over dark grey. Touches of light yellow indicate snow.) The sky has not been coloured.
