Long, double strand of tiny seed pearls with three moonstones. Pearls approximately 1.0 mm in diameter, moonstones are rounded ovals reflecting bluish tinge, and set in simple, oval, gold fittings with 2 small gold eyes at each end to hold the double strand of pearls. Pearls threaded in lengths of approximately 23 cm between the moonstones, middle length broken. Several loose seed pearls from this necklace, as well as some medium sized pearls, and some larger pearls, not all are genuine, plus a small rod of metal. In small, 7.1x4.0x2.3, wooden Japanese box marked "Edie Morse from Mrs Yatabe" Box lined with a piece of soft paper which folds over contents and has red, stamped, Japanese calligraphy on top.

Description
A large, rectangular hamper like box (a) with lid (b) made from split natural coloured bark woven around flat strips of wood in a coiled basket manner. Lid fits over a small lip at the top. A small, flexible looped handle is at each side at the top. Edge of lid is laced with split bark, and base is inset with basket resting on slight foot. Imbricated design on front and back consists of a large square worked in black bark with perpendicular lines out from each side, this outlined with white, and then with red bark. The design is repeated in outline with interrupted stitches on lid, each end of the basket contains the outline with interrupted stitches on the lid. Each end of the basket contains the outline of a large diamond shape in black, white and red.

Description
Two different lorgnette straps, one of ribbon, one of cord. (a) narrow, black, grosgrain ribbon, gold hooks and clasps at ends. Ribbon threads through flat gold eyes with short three link chain holding gold swivel hook at one end, ring bolt clasp at other. Tiny, oval, silver buckle slide secured by two very sharp, short, curved prongs in the middle holds ribbon together. Marks: stamped into each flat eye, on swivel hook, and on ring bolt, "14k" with diamond shaped hallmark on the eyes, series of numbers and letters scratched on back of silver buckle. (b) braided, black cord, long loop with two small, gold slides which clamp around each side and can be moved along length of cord. Small, gold caps at the ends of the loop are fastened together through a small gold ring which in turn is attached to a ring bolt clasp. Sliding clamps have pierced design of oval with four petalled flower inside. Gold coloured fittings are likely brass.
