All the trees are small except for a single grouping on the right side. Beyond the grassy area is a strip of light blue-green water. The background is filled with the lower slopes of a mountain bordering Bow Lake. On the left at the base of the mountain, are two small patches of trees. About two-thirds of the background is composed of light violet-grey, and light brown-grey areas of loose rock with patches of pale yellow snow. One snow patch resembling a crescent moon is to the left of the tall group of trees.
