- Description
- The foreground contains brush. A single tree is placed on the left side, and a smaller tree plus a tree extending the width of the picture is on the right side. The vegetation is painted in browns, greens, grey and brick-red. The surface of the thawing lake beyond fills half the picture frame. The ice on the water is a green-grey near the foreground, while it is white with streaks of green-blue near the background. Water can be seen above the centre foreground. Patches of water also stretch diagonally upwards from the centre right to the left-hand side. In the left background is the base of a large mountainside. Small blue and white peaks are found in the right background behind the tallest tree.
