- Allan E. Crawford (1900-1989) of Calgary, Alberta and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, was a member of the Sky Line Trail Hikers from 1937 to 1946 and was the "Official Musician of the Sky Line Trail Hikers" in 1937, 1938, 1940, and 1941. He also participated in Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies trips from 1937, 1938, 1940, 1941 as their musician. Allan E. Crawford appeared on Calgary radio station CFCN "The Voice of the Prairies" on a live weekly program, with the music trio "The Gamboliers" playing the accordian with Eddie Clemens on guitar and J.E. Gerke on vocals. Allan also played the organ, piano and harmonica.

- History / Biographical
- Brewster Transport Company is a transportation company based at Banff, Alberta. Formally organized in 1900 as W. & J. Brewster, Guides and Packers, the company expanded in 1904 into commercial development in Banff and acquired the Canadian Pacific Railway livery concession at Banff in 1905. From 1909 until his death in 1947, Jim Brewster guided the company, with Lou Crosby handling finance. Beginning in 1917, Brewster Transport entered the motorized era with touring cars, later replaced with a succession of buses. From 1920 to 1933, Bill Brewster was general manager and during this period the company acquired Royal Hawaiian Transport and the Sunshine Ski development. The company amalgamated its transportation interests with Rocky Mountain Tours in 1957, and in 1965 the company passed out of the Brewster family's hands, being sold to Greyhound Lines of Canada. Brewster Transport continues to operate as Brewster Transportation and Tours, a diversified transportation and accommodation company in the Rocky Mountains.

- Charlie Hunter (1888-1982) of Pincher Creek, Alberta, worked as a guide for Jim Boyce in the 1920s and 1930s, and was especially associated with Caroline Hinman's tours. Don Schoening (1918-2018), Charlie Hunter's nephew, worked as a wrangler for his uncle on Hinman's trail rides in Banff National Park in 1934 and 1936. Schoening also ran the pack trains that carried the building supplies for Skoki Lodge in 1936.

- History / Biographical
- Clifford White (I), 1902-1964, skier, mountaineer and photographer was the son of Dave and Annie White, and the brother of Peter Whyte. He spent his life in the Banff area and was a pioneer in ski development in the Banff and Lake Louise areas. In 1932, he and Russell H. Bennett, J.A. Weiss and A.L. Withers skied a 300 mile route from Jasper to Lake Louise in a 20 day period. Cliff White made numerous pioneering ski expeditions including trips to Skoki, the Columbia Icefields and the Coast Range of British Columbia in 1934. Clifford was an active participant in the construction of Skoki Lodge and Mount Temple Chalet, managing Mount Temple from 1939-1945. He also participated in the development of skiing at Mount Norquay. Following World War I, Clifford helped organize the first Banff Ski Club, 1926. Cliff White married Mildred Jackson, d.1953 and they had three children - Clifford Jr., Donald, and Peter.

- The Wardle family was comprised of husband and wife, James Morey Wardle (June 26,1888 - May 18,1971) and Maud Leette (Roney) Wardle (May 24,1889 - December 1,1969), and their one child, Dorothy Hope Wardle (May 23,1919 - July 20,2003). James Wardle, born in Chiliwack, British Columbia, was a civil engineer and public servant. He was the Superintendent of Banff National Park from 1918-1921, Chief Engineer for Parks Canada from 1921-1935, and Deputy Minister of the Interior from 1935-1936. He is primarily known as a highway design engineer, particularly for building the Banff-Windermere, Banff-Lake Louise, and Banff-Jasper highways. He was a councillor for the Municipality of Rockcliffe Park in Ontario and he was the President of the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies in Banff from 1925-1929. Mount Wardle in Vermillion was named after him in 1921. James married Leette on November 4, 1913, with whom he had one child, Dorothy. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Dorothy (also known as Dot and Dorie) grew up in Banff, Alberta and Ottawa, Ontario, due to her father's position with the federal government. She was educated at the Mountain School in Banff and at the Elmwood School in Ottawa. All three family members were graduates of Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. James graduated in 1912 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Leette graduated with a Bachelor's degree, and in 1942, Dorothy also earned a Bachelor's degree. Dorothy was prominent in student life and active in athletics. In 1941, Dorothy became the first woman elected as President of the Alma Mater Society and during her academic career, Dorothy was a member of the Levana Intercollegiate Debative, University Centenary Committee, and Queen’s War Aid Commission. Dorothy spent her career as a freelance writer however, upon graduation she served as the first Secretary-In-Charge of Records at Carleton College (now Carleton University) from 1942-1944 in Ottawa and in the mid-1950s worked as a secretary for the Glenbow Foundation in Calgary. Dorothy pursued a lifelong interest in traveling, art, and antiques. Although she was fiercely proud and protective of Banff and the Park, and remained a volunteer and patron of the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, Dorothy eventually settled in Sidney, British Columbia and shared an apartment with Sheila Iris Ritchie, with whom Dorothy travelled extensively. After her death in 2003, Dorothy, "Dorie," was laid to rest alongside her parents in the Old Banff Cemetery.

- Ernst Niederer, 1891-1978, was an alpine ski and climbing guide at Jasper, Banff, Columbia Icefield and Lake Louise, Alberta. Niederer was born in Teufen, Switzerland and came to Canada in 1920. He began guiding in 1928 and was certified in 1940. He retired to Victoria in 1951, but continued to ski and teach. Niederer was survived by his wife Ivy and son Ernie.

- Glenn Tooke, 1930-1996, moved to Banff, Alberta from Edmonton with his wife Shirley in 1961. Glenn managed Banff Camera, Rundle Photo and Cascade Studio and in 1964, he and Shirley purchased the Banff A&W. In 1969, they opened and operated the restaurant Joshua's, in partnership with Werner Peschl and in 1970, they opened an art gallery that showcased Alberta artists and offered custom framing. During this time, Glenn and Rob Lefroy rented the Banff Avenue Auditorium (presently Parks Canada Information Centre) and held public dances with live bands on the weekends. In 1979, Shirley and Bob Kinzie established a professional theatre company called Any Space Theatre. With contract actors, musicians and playwrights, they presented their plays in many locations within Banff, Lake Louise, Calgary, and Edmonton. Glenn assisted in designing and building the sets, and provided all the photography for promoting the productions. Having divided their time between Banff and Calgary during the 1970s and early 1980s, Glenn and Shirley permanently settled in Banff in 1984 and re-established their gallery. In 1986, they opened Jump Start, a specialty coffee shop. Shirley and Glenn have two children, Robert and Tamara.

- Hans Gmoser, 1932-2006 was born in Braunau, Austria in 1932. During his long career he worked as a mountain guide, mountaineer, ski instructor, skier, cinematographer, lecturer, and founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Canadian Mountain Holidays. Hans Gmoser was also an active cyclist and was based in Banff and Harvie Heights, Alberta.
- Gmoser gained early skiing and mountaineering experience in post-war Austria before emigrating to Canada with his friend Leo Grillmair in 1951. Lizzie Rummel gave him his first job in the mountains at Mount Assiniboine. By 1953 he was working as a mountain guide and founded Rocky Mountain Guides Ltd. (Canadian Mountain Holidays CMH) in 1957. That year he began filming promotional films containing climbing and skiing adventure sequences. He first used fixed-wing aircraft and later helicopters, starting in 1963, to transport clients for spring skiing and summer climbing. Gmoser toured throughout North America promoting his skiing and climbing films, attracting large audiences with his inspiring lectures.
- Gmoser built Bugaboo Lodge in 1968, the first of six lodges which also include Bobbie Burns, Galena, Gothics, Adamants and Cariboo lodges, to serve international heli-skiers and heli-hikers. Gmoser retired from Canadian Mountain Holidays in 1993. Hans Gmoser received honourary memberships in the Alpine Club of Canada and the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations. He was elected to the Honour Roll of Canadian Skiing and the U.S. National Ski Hall of Fame and received the Banff Mountain Film Festival Summit of Excellence Award. In 1987 Hans Gmoser was awarded the Order of Canada.

- Films depict a mixture of skiing and climbing including spring skiing, powder skiing, glacier skiing on Columbia Icefield, heli-skiing in the Rockies and Selkirks and ascents of Mount Logan, Yukon, and Mounts Blackburn and McKinley, Alaska, also rock and ice climbing. Feature length films consist of, or are accompanied by, all or some of the following elements: 16mm originals (A and B rolls); work prints, out takes, 16mm mag track (sound); 1/4" audio tape (background music to accompany narration, 7 items); teasers (TV film clips) and the following items included in the textual records: narration scripts, teaser text, descriptive flyers, press releases, annual pamphlets and ad solicitation for same, censor certificates, related correspondence, maps, oversize promotional posters for Gmoser's films "With Ski and Rope" 1957, and a handmade poster by Banff Ski Runners for "Adventure Bound" and related ephemera.

- History / Biographical
- Iva (Stewart) Smith , 1894-1975, and Leonard James Smith, 1890-1969, were business operators at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Iva Stewart and her mother Zaidee Stewart, 1875-1962, came to Banff as visitors in 1913 and decided to stay. Iva operated the Canadian Pacific Railway station news stand from 1914 until ca.1924. She married Len Smith in 1922.
- After working at various other CPR facilities, including Lake Louise Chalet in the 1920s and Wapta Bungalow Camp, ca.1931, Iva Smith became manager of Becker's Bungalows on Tunnel Mountain in Banff, ca.1935 Len Smith worked at the Bow River boat house and was Captain of the "Lake Minnewanka" for over thirty years. He was also an ice-maker at Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge and Banff, Alberta for forty-five years. Zaidee M. Stewart worked at the boat operation tea house and wrote poetry, publishing "Banff Holiday" in 1950.

- Jon Whelan (1952-2022) was a researcher, historian, and collector based in Banff, Alberta. Jon had a special interest in topics related to Banff National Park and Canadian Pacific Railway Company. Jon conducted independent research, as well as research for various authors and historians, from the 1980s onwards. Jon was also an active participant in municipal politics in Banff. "For most of Jon’s life, he was engaged in community affairs and fearless in voicing an opinion. He was successful in raising public awareness and his tenacity achieved a personal goal, which was to initiate the use of video for regular Town of Banff council meetings. - Lawrence (Laurie, Larry) Allison Duncan, 1890-1978, was a photographer, businessman and collector at Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Duncan came to Alberta in 1908 with his parents, Thomas Henry Duncan and Elizabeth Jane (Gill) Duncan, who settled on a ranch at Okotoks. For a time, Laurie Duncan operated a photography business in Calgary, specializing in views of Calgary, Indians, ranching and the Canadian Rockies. He attended Alpine Club of Canada camps in the 1920s, after becoming a member in 1920 with his graduating climb of Mount President, 1919. He was active in professional photography into the 1930s. Duncan was self-taught in mineralogy, painting and photography and was active for over fifty years in the development of mining and petroleum interests in the United States and Canada. Larry Duncan was an avid collector of shells, gems, rocks, fossils and cultural artifacts.

- Marjorie Youhill, born c.1910s, was born, raised, and worked in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She was a Christian Scientist, had one stepsister, and never married. Marjorie retired in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where she died at the Glengarry Hospital. She left her financial estate to Loreen Dunklee, her cousin.

- Mary Wright (Molly) Adams was born on 15 October 1868. in Ridgefield Connecticut. She was the third of five children born to Cornelia Ann Cook (1830-1902) and Daniel Lucius Adams (1814 - 1899) She died in Kobe, Japan on 23 January 1909 and was buried there.

Content pertains to a July-August 1943 trip with Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies which included multiple locations: Banff, Canmore, Spray Lakes, Wonder Pass, Mount Assiniboine, Simpson Summit, Larix Lake, Citadel Pass and Healy Creek. Second half of album pertains to Sky Line Hike Camp trip through Goat Creek and Spray River in August, 1943. Photographs depict group shots of riders on horseback and individuals hiking, swimming, scenic views of mountains, lakes, etc., portraits/individual shots of trip attendees, and views of teepees and campsites. Album also contains 3 newspaper clippings with articles related to trips, Trail Riders ticket for Miss Jeanne Nelson (July 30th - August 3rd, 1943) and 2 small booklets (one pertaining to each of two trips depicted in album). - Forrest Oliver "Pat" Brewster, 1896-1982, was a trail guide, outfitter and businessman in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Pat was a native and life-long resident of Banff. As a boy, he was an active Boy Scout and, by age seventeen, was a big game guide. After serving in World War I, Brewster established the first permanent camp at Lake O'Hara for the Canadian Pacific Railway. In 1926, he took over the Brewster Transport Company outfitting business from his brothers, Bill and Jim. In the 1930s, he became involved in skiing explorations in the Assiniboine, Skoki and Sunshine areas. Pat Brewster was active in community affairs and, in his later years, was an avid historian of the region. He published three books of reminiscences between 1975 and 1982.
