Description
A miniature Japanese koto. Solid piece of wood representing sounding box is varnished and is covered at one end with orange brocade fabric, with a small piece of the same fabric at the other end to protect wood from the rubbing of the strings. Thirteen strings of yellow thread are strung across a low bridge at each end, with smaller bridges or frets supporting individual strings at different points to vary the pitch of each. Koto supported at each end with short brown painted legs. In cardboard box with grey and green scribbly lines and stamped at one end with Japanese writing and "15 cm/ No. (?)".
