History / Biographical: The Banff Community Celebrations Society coordinated the official Millenium events of the Town of Banff which included such Millenium celebrations as 1st Night, Banff Winter Festival, and Artventure.

Scope & Content: Fonds consists of records pertaining to the official Millenium events of the Town of Banff and include 1st Night, Banff Winter Festival, Artventure, Stories of Our Lives, TransCanada relay, Millenium quilts, art sculptures, and other official Millenium celebrations. Records include photographs by Debbie Senger, black & white prints by Gavin Young, sound recordings relating to Stories of Our Lives, and a DVD recording titled Canada 2000 / Government of Canada, Millenium Bureau of Canada, 2001.

Notes: Stories of Our Lives audio cassettes- need transcriptions, copyright etc.

History / Biographical: Miss Grant Kimball, of 2200 Block 14 A St. S.W. Calgary, Alberta, worked for the government seed sorting and grading office, which may have had offices in the old Post Office Building, 8 Ave. & 1st St. S.E. Calgary. Kimball never married, she was Rosicrusian and occasionally travelled to group headquarters in California for annual picnics. Her father worked for CPR and she had one sister, June Kimball.

History / Biographical: Jim Santa Lucia, b.1930, was a professional photographer at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Santa Lucia began working professionally in photography in 1957. He sold the assets of his studio in 1986-1987 and continued to freelance in photography. Santa Lucia has been active with numerous community organizations, including Banff Indian Days Association, Cascade Masonic Lodge and the Kiwanis Club.

Scope & Content: Fonds consists of commercial views of people, places and events in Banff. Includes hotels, businesses, buildings, streets and facilities; construction projects, including reconstruction of the Cave and Basin; fires, including Mount Royal Hotel and bus depot fires; Mount Norquay ski area; Banff Indian Days events, dances and ceremonies; group portraits, including high school graduates and class reunions; individual portraits. History / Biographical: Mollie E. Smith Ross, ca.1860-1897, and Peter Murray Ross, ca.1863-1928, lived at Banff and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Mary Emma Jane (Mollie) Smith was born in Jackson, Michigan, USA and came to Banff for health reasons, ca.1889. Among her friends in Banff were Anglican church minister Rev. F. Granville (Eric) Christmas, 1854-1931, and druggist Peter Ross. Mollie Smith and Peter Ross were married in 1892 by Rev. Charles W. Gordon and moved to Edmonton in 1893, where Ross continued in the pharmaceutical business and the couple raised a family. Rev. F. G. Christmas chronicled his admiration of Mollie Smith in a scrapbook that he later presented to her.

Scope & Content: Fonds includes Rev. F. G. Christmas scrapbook, 1888-1889, of sketches, poems and writings pertaining to social life among Christmas's circle of Banff friends, including Mollie Smith and Peter Ross. Scrapbook also contains several loose items.
