The forerim band is decorated with cloth forget-me-nots with wrapped wire stems, and there is evidence of white feathers at the back of the hat, indicating that at one time it probably was plumed.

At each side of lower zircon are two flowing banner like streamers enamelled red and green. Back is flat silhouette of front, with circular holes through at points where jewels and silver balls are attached. Hinged pin spike across back fastens under curled hook clasp.
