- A sheet metal shield with an arc welded behind the top to form a curve. The shield is hand painted with a large gold Jerusalem cross on a black background on the bottom half. The left half of the top has six silver perching birds on a dark blue background, and the right half of the top has two keys (gold and silver) linked together and crossed with a sword on a red background. There is a blue painted metal strap attached to the top, bent at a right angle, with a hanging ring at the centre.

- A long plank of wood (oak?) carved at the top and shaped at the bottom with three holes cut out. There are three square pieces of carved and pierced wood applied at a slight angle along the length to form slots for holding letters. A white shield is painted at the top with a red band and gold lion rampant above a red chevron with three rosettes (red). A sticker attached to the back reads: “A.W. Crisp & Co. - A molded frame of a wax compound with a deep relief of a cathedral aisle lined with columns and arches from a floor to a high ceiling. There is a partition and doors at the end of a tall arched wall with a plaque and wreath on a tiled floor in front. The plaque is a yellowed ivory colour with black and brown staining to enhance details. The plaque hangs from a doubled brown twisted cord through small holes molded through each of the top corners. Carved below the relief is “The Grave of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey Nov 11 1920.” The back is stamped “Ivorex copyright in all countries Arthur Osborne, made in England.”
