Description
(a) Large dark brown wooden box camera which is constructed so that back half of camera slides into front half to focus and is secured in place by means of a brass thumbscrew into a slot in the base. Large brass lens screwed over aperture hole at centre of front side of wooden box, square glass plate set into wooden frame slides into slot at back of camera. (b) a separate plateholder of the same size has hinged door on back of frame which opens to insert black metal film sheath (Eastman Kodak), and front of frame slides out by pulling on metal ring at top to expose film. Note: wood cracking and separated at joints, chipped at lower front corners with large chunk of wood out of lower right, plateholder cracked across door and on one side of top.

Single, large .5 cm dia. red garnet at top with silver leaves forming heart shape below, having large, square, green zircons .4 cm square, below and on either side. At each side of lower zircon are two flowing banner like streamers enamelled red and green. Back is flat silhouette of front, with circular holes through at points where jewels and silver balls are attached. Hinged pin spike across back fastens under curled hook clasp.

Collection of pottery sherds.a) bright blue/cobalt glaze (7.9 cm x 7.5 cm x 4.5 cm) - remnant from the base and side of a very thick pot; base has trimmed wide foot and shows moulded relief rising from crackled glaze; outside of shard fully glazed with triangular shape showing clay inside where glaze was not applied; one edge of side is smooth and glazed forming a finished edge; other edges rough where broken. b) bright blue cobalt glaze (6.5 cm x 4.0 cm x 2.0 cm) - almost rectangular thick sherd; slightly curved and unglazed on inside.c) same as b, possible same vessel (5.5 cm x 5.0 cm x 2.0 cm) - one edge glazed (possibly rim) and bleeding slightly to inside.d) bright green (lead?) glaze (4.0 cm x 3.0 cm x 1.5 cm) - rhombus shape; broken obliquely through thickness to be very thick at one end and thin at the other e) bright aqua glaze (3.5 cm x 2.0 cm x 1.5 cm) - small triangular sherd, slightly curved and glazed on inside with outside rough and unglazed. f) dull turquoise glaze (5.0 cm x 2.0 cm x 1.7 cm) - small triangular shape with moulded relief-glaze covered surface on one face, smooth glazed surface on opposite face.

A collection of four pins and one pendant of the Masonic Order: a) A silver pendant, formed of an open compass and protractor with a small white shield reading 'SHTWSSTK' hanging at the centre from the angle of the compass. The pendant is engraved “to Brother Philip Friedman ... services rendered ... to ... lodge while Master AD 1846 et al”.b) A silver pin, 3.8 cm in diameter, with an outer round circular band that supports a compass crossed with a right angle across an opening at the centre of the pin. c) A gold coloured square lapel pin, measuring 0.7 cm long by 0.7 cm wide, in the shape of a compass crossed with a right angle. The pin has the lettter “G” centred in the compass and angle. d) A stud pin, measuring 1.5 cm long by 1.1 cm wide, with a gold coloured compass crossed with a right angle in high relief on a circular back. There are three interlocked circles of different coloured enamel beneath the compass and angle. Each circle contains a letter, reading from left to right , “F”, “L” and “T”. e) A round gold-coloured lapel pin, measuring 0.9 cm in diameter, with a white shield at its centre containing the letters “SHTWSSTK” around the inside of a circle.
