Topics include New Yea's Eve celebrations, going to the movies, spending time on the beach, painting/sketching [including experimenting with watercolour paints and different kinds of paper], people and events in Concord and in Banff, descriptions of Honolulu and the local people [including dress, food, and boats], weather, watching US Navy ships and planes come in and out of Pearl Harbor, listening to the radio [mostly news and operas], sketching people on the beach, the other guests at their hotel, going out for meals, celebrating Pete's birthday, descriptions of meals, planning their trip to Japan, painting portraits of locals, making canvases and easels, developing films [photographs], the Moores and the Rungiuses arriving in early February, shopping, watching various military Reviews and parades [usually as part of ceremonies for visiting dignitaries], descriptions of various ships in port, flowers and trees, birds, showing some of their work at the Art Academy at the invitation of the Honolulu Art Association in early March, going to cocktail parties and dances with the Moores and Rungiuses, booking their passage to Japan with Canadian Pacific, and leaving Hawaii in mid-March.

Some letters contain small sketches of hotel/motel layouts, road layouts, and room/ship cabin details. Pertains to the last few days of the summer 1957 trip carried over from M67 / 3 - 6, a trip in 1958 involving travel to Banff, the annual Alpine Club of Canada hike, staying at the Chateau Lake Louise, hiking in Lake O'Hara, and travel back to Pennsylvania. Trip details for 1959 include travelling by train from the United States to Montreal before continuing on to Banff where she took trips to Lake O'Hara and Skoki - entries for 1959 seem to end abruptly. Also includes lists of people met over the three years, equipment used for various trips, and a list of events since Sept. 1958 including the opening of the new Sulphur gondola on July 28, 1958, the tearing down of the Brewster stables on Spray Ave, and the conversion of the ski lodge to the Post Hotel in Lake Louise. Scope & Content: File pertains to 37 letters written by Catharine Robb Whyte to her mother, Edith Morse Robb from August 1932 to November 1932. Topics include daily life in Banff, a trip to Lake O'Hara Bungalow Camp to sketch and paint [with the Links], plans to get Skoki ready for the season, visiting Lake McArthur, Castle Mountain Camp and Lake Louise, helping painter Mr. Jack find good painting spots and learning painting techniques from he and Carl Rungius, the engagement of Catharine's brother Russ, daily life in Concord [including Uncle George's finances after Stock Market Crash and Olive possibly not attending college], the marriage of Elizabeth Bosley, Peter and Cliff creating a dark room above the store and enlarging negatives and photographs, packing things into Skoki, painting J.D. Curren, making plans to head east for the holidays, and visiting with locals and others [including Mr. and Mrs. Hammond, Mr. and Mrs. Link, the Moore family, Carl Rungius, Mrs. Kerr, the Earl of Bessborough, Cyril Paris, Ted Paris, Norman Knight, Earl Spencer, Vic Kutschera, Jimmy Simpson and his cook, Jessie McClure, Margarite Orr [?], J.D. Curren, and Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Jennings].
